decomposing

Make more energy
How much of our rubbish is made up of food scraps?
EPA estimates that more food reaches landfills and incinerators than any other single material in our everyday trash, constituting 22 percent of discarded municipal solid waste.
What does methane gas do to our planet?

If methane leaks into the air before being used – from a leaky pipe, for instance – it absorbs the sun's heat, warming the atmosphere. For this reason, it's considered a greenhouse gas, like carbon dioxide.
What does soil do to carbon dioxide in the atmosphere?
When the plants die, soil microbes break down their carbon compounds and use them for metabolism and growth, respiring some back to the atmosphere. Because microbial decomposition releases carbon dioxide, the soil can store more carbon when it is protected from microbial activity.
What do using zero waste practices do to our planet?

zero-waste strategy needs to ensure everyone has access to tools to reduce, reuse and recycle waste where they live, work and play. ... A zero-waste approach also protects the health of communities by reducing pollution in the air, water, and soil by keeping toxic and waste out of landfills and incinerators.

    .

    1. How long does this resource take to decompose?
    2. What resource/fossil fuel are they made from?
    3. How does making this object contribute to climate change?
    4. How is this resource recycled?:
Zero Waste is a set of principles focused on waste prevention that encourages the redesign of resource life cycles so that all products are reused. The goal is for no trash to be sent to landfills, incinerators, or the ocean. ... Zero waste is more of a goal or ideal rather than a hard target.

    INFERRING

Welcome to my blog today I’m blogging about inferring.
Inferring is being able to ‘read between the lines’,
when the author implies something but doesn’t exactly
state it. You need to use the clues in the text and your
own prior knowledge to help you understand.
    Etc: “Sarah’s mouth
    was dry and she had
    a big knot in her
    stomach. She wished
    today was already
over.” ... I think she was so nervous about her speech

    1. the kids and teachers and parent helpers sit around the campfire.
    2. “I sat with Maddie on the way here,
    3. Everyone’s sitting on wooden benches, waiting for food.
    4. “I’ve got heaps of food for a midnight feast!”
    5. The food isn’t the same as the food at home.

    1. She had A lot of food to eat at midnight
    2. Everyone's sit around the campfire together
    3. She sat with her friend on the way there
    4. Everyone was sitting on wooden benches waiting for their food
    5. The food at camp not as good the food at home she did not like it
I hope you like my blog post and I shall have another blog post soon.

    PE

    PE

In PE we tested our confidence/honesty and our skill here is some work:

This week in our P.E Hurumanu we have been…
    • What: kick ball and bench ball
    • Where: school gym
    • Why: team work and skill

    S - Statement
    E - Explanation
    E - Example

    Statement
Our first activity was kick long ball For this activity I rated my self as a 3 because i tried my best and worked with my team.

    Explanation
To achieve level 3 we have to show that we can consistently make a contribution to the team goal and include myself in the game.

    Example
During the first game of kick long ball i showed that I am working at level 3 by i trying my best and worked with my team. These examples show that I have meet the standard for level 3.

    Statement
Our second activity was Bench ball For this activity I rated my self as a 2/4

    Explanation
To be at level 2 we have to show that we can consistently sometimes make contributions
And sometime have to have a teacher at me side.

    Example
During the second game of Bench ball I showed that I am working at level 2 by have to have a teacher at my side and sometimes make contributions. These examples show that I have meet the standard for level 2

Next week I am aiming to work at level 4 To make sure that I am working that level I am going to work on my skill  and behaviour

hope you liked it. Blog you later!!!

    sport games

    Pirate of the Caribbean-Game
    A indoor game-
Equipment- old gym, volleyball nets x 2, 20 small balls (hacky sacks /soft cricket), Sheets x2 tarp x2
    How to play -
Tie the rope to one end of the hall/classroom or trees. Hang the sheet on the rope longways. Then divide the sponges two groups. The team captains play paper rock scissors. the winner starts to throw the sponges. If a sponge hits you are out you have to sit on the sidelines.

    To score-

Hit the people and the last team with the most players win.
